- Supervise Field Engineering, and Document Management teams
- Provide technical support to construction and the site quality program; ensure all technical aspects of construction are satisfied.
- Participate in all project leadership meetings and activities.
- Assist in developing the Site Quality Manual (SQM) for quality manager in determining the appropriate quality requirements for the equipment and project location to be included in the SQM.
- During engineering development and construction planning phases at home office, monitor and control all interface tasks between engineering and construction to ensure compliance with all construction driven approach requirements.
- Complete or make to complete miscellaneous design tasks that are related with temporary construction facilities and utilities.
- Responsible for the compliance and safe practices of Field Engineering staff.
- Execute the Field Engineering program, including the exchange of engineering information between the client, design engineer, and company project team; ensure effective communication and the addressing and tracking of needs, requirements, and issues
- Coordinate the preparation and revision of technical work procedures consistent with project design and construction requirements, including the construction engineering section of the Project Procedures Manual
- Provide technical support of contracts.
- Interpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings are reviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings
- Coordinate, obtain, and provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI) as required
- Maintain liaison with Fluor home office, distribution execution centre and on site team to provide the technical and construction engineering expertise required to support the project
- Provide technical evaluation of bid proposals
- Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action
- Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
- Manage and provide support for the Site Pressure Testing Program.
- Manage all required Engineering walk-downs.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, codes, procedures, and global standards.
- Manage design solutions for in field modifications.
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and fifteen (15) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
- Previous Fluor experience is an asset.
- Provent track record of experience in Copper/Gold Concentrator experience is requirement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Ability to build effective relationships with client, engineering, construction, and vendor personnel.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to travel on a short notice both internationally and domestically for short- and long-term assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office suite of software programs.
- Proficient in 3D Model environment such Navisworks Freedom or SmartPlant.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
- Advanced knowledge of equipment through all stages of a project from conceptual phase to design development, construction, and commissioning
- Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
- Managing and leading a large project
- Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out
- Practical field experience
