The Specialist, Classification and Organizational Design, provides expert advice to managers, senior leaders, and the Human Resources (HR) department on job evaluation, role design, and organizational structure. The incumbent supports the development of organizational design solutions that align with operational needs and strategic priorities. Through informed recommendations and guidance, the Specialist contributes to sound workforce design and organizational effectiveness.KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIESThe duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:Primaryo Advise managers, directors, and senior leaders on job evaluation, role design, and organizational structureo Collaborate with managers, senior leaders, and HR team members to assess organizational needs and recommend organizational structures that support strategic and operational objectiveso Assess job information, organizational structures, and ensure internal role alignmento Prepare and review job description questionnaires and job profiles, and conduct job evaluations in accordance with organizational job evaluation standardso Ensure job profiles, titles, and classifications are consistent and aligned with DCC’s organizational structure and workforce design principleso Ensure all job evaluation and classification activities comply with pay equity legislation and related regulatory requirementso Develop, maintain, and improve organizational design and job evaluation tools, processes, procedures, and practices, including tracking and reporting mechanismso Engage with service lines and business units to understand operational needs and maintain an effective level of business literacyo Provide training, guidance, and advice to managers and HR team members on job evaluation processes and organizational design principleso Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholderso Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectationsOthero Other duties as assignedSKILLSo General and Specific Knowledgeo Job evaluation methodologies, classification standards, and organizational design principleso Pay equity legislation and related regulatory requirementsAbilitieso Use applicable computer software and operating systemso Apply legislative and policy changes to job evaluation practiceso Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skillso Manage multiple deadlines and prioritiesFormal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experienceo Minimum: undergraduate degree in administration, commerce, human resources, labour relations or related field with five years’ relevant experience, or the equivalento Preferred: Certified Human Resources Professional designation or accreditation in classificationDEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIPo Provide functional advice and guidance to managers, senior leaders, and HR team membersWORKING CONDITIONSo Typical office environment with occasional travelCheck out your benefitsWorking with us offers excellent opportunities for growth and advancement—and entitles you to one of the job market’s best benefits packages valued at between 25 and 30% of your salary.Your package includes:Health and Wellnesso 100% employer-paid annual sick leave, and health and dental premiumso $400 wellness allowance to help cover expenses such as a gym membershipo $2,500 for mental health services on top of regular $2,500 paramedical coverageo Telus Virtual Health Care and $750 Health Care Spending Account for some expenses not covered under provincial plansHome and Familyo Life, accidental-death, and short-term disability insuranceo Enhanced inConfidence employee and family assistance programo Maternity and parental leave top-up plan to 93% of regular gross earnings for up to 37 weekso Flexible workplace options, including $400 allowance every two years, to support working from homeLeave and Retiremento Public-service pensiono Comprehensive vacation and other paid-leave plans, along with deluxe travel benefit plans
