Description :Role Overview:The Junior Geological Assistant will be an upbeat, highly motivated, and hard-working individual, who strives to support various geoscience activities relating to the ongoing gold exploration program at Lynn Lake. You will live in the town of Lynn Lake and work seven (7) days of continuous work, followed by a period of seven (7) days off. The standard workday is 10 hours (excluding lunch, which is typically one hour) starting at 7:00 a.m. You may be required to work additional hours from time to time. This role will provide a local high school student with the opportunity to obtain valuable work experience with the Alamos Exploration Team in Lynn Lake.Primary Responsibilities:
Strive to assist with a variety of geological activities at both the deposit- and regional-scale,
including geochemical soil sampling, geological field mapping, prospecting, and core shack duties; * Demonstrating an outstanding work ethic, strive to assist a geologist or university student in thecore shack or the field; * Research, data compilation, and data entry for a variety of geological, geophysical, and geochemicaldatasets; * Core docking and orientation, RQD, magnetic susceptibility measurements, core photos;
Other duties and accountabilities as required
Skills, Knowledge, Qualification, and Experience:
Enrollment in high school in Lynn Lake or surrounding communities;
Ability to spend long days in the field carrying a backpack with samples and equipment;
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude is a must;
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
Works safely and promotes safe and environmental practices (safety training will be provided);
Ability to carry out assigned tasks in the core shack and in the field.
You must be able to get yourself to and from the core shack located in Lynn Lake.
