Guided by our values, we raise the bar, act with integrity, and create inclusive spaces that reflect our commitment to IDEA principles.We’re looking for an Events Specialist to join our team on a maternity leave contract and help deliver exceptional, inclusive, and high-impact experiences.What You’ll DoBring Events to Life: You’ll play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of events from concept to execution.Plan and execute end-to-end events, including conferences, learning programs, and community experiencesBuild and manage detailed timelines, workback plans, and logisticsCoordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners to ensure seamless deliveryOversee onsite execution and create exceptional experiences for attendees, speakers, and sponsors.Support Engaging & Inclusive ProgrammingCoordinate speaker logistics and communicationsContribute to agenda development and audience experienceHelp ensure diverse representation and inclusive design across all events.Drive Continuous Improvement: We don’t just run events; we evolve them.Analyze event performance (NPS, attendance, revenue) to identify opportunities for improvementContribute ideas to enhance formats, experiences, and engagementSupport post-event debriefs and continuous improvement initiativesStay current on event trends and best practices.Leverage Technology & InnovationSupport or manage event platforms (registration systems, apps, virtual tools)Troubleshoot issues and improve user experienceIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, reporting, and automation.Qualifications We’re Excited AboutEducation: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a business-related program. Education or accreditation in event planning or event management is preferred. PMP designation is an asset.Experience:2-4 years of corporate event planning experience2-4 years of project coordination or project management, demonstrating expertise in managing complex timelines and deliverables.2-4 years of stakeholder engagement experience, fostering strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and internal teams.Technical Expertise: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), event technology platforms (e.g., ON24, EventMobi), and Microsoft Office Suite).Creative Vision: An eye for style, venue aesthetics, and the ability to craft events that align with HRPA’s values while delivering a “wow” factor.Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with speakers, attendees, and partners.Values-Driven: A commitment to HRPA’s IDEA principles, combined with flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for creating inclusive and impactful event experiences.Working Conditions: Occasional travel to event locations.
