What you will doAs a Director, you'll lead a team of digital assets enthusiasts with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients engage with innovative technologies such as blockchain, crypto, DeFi, NFT, Web 3.0, tokenization and crypto AI agents. You will also be involved in managing engagements and training the team members. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Practice Development
- Leading the team's vision and collaborating with the Service Line leader to lead a high-performing and ambitious team of the Canadian Digital Assets practice, including Innovation, Advisory, and Risk services.
- Defining and leading the go-to-market strategy in collaboration with other service lines and leading the responses to digital assets opportunities.
- Collaborating with KPMG's Global Blockchain Community to share leading practices and experiences.
- Working to innovate, build and enhance how the CoE operates internally and for our clients.
- Linking CoE to other Advisory, Tax, and Audit offerings to provide holistic support to our clients.
- Advising clients on technology, operational and financial aspects of digital assets programs including strategy, governance, risk frameworks, controls, processes, and operating models.
- Managing cross-functional global engagement teams, both internally within KPMG, and external client teams, across all areas of the organization.
- Have a solid understanding of trends and innovations in the digital assets and wider FS industry.
- Creating and delivering high-quality presentations and reviews to senior executives/stakeholders and business managers.
- Translating complex business challenges into solutions, covering in-depth functional expertise, technology (applications and platforms), and operating model design.
- Working with senior decision-makers and stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, IT, and the Business (e.g ., Product owners, Heads of service delivery/CX, Head of Operations).
- Developing thought leadership in the area of educating clients and demonstrating KPMG's expertise in the space.
- Establishing and managing strategic collaborations with external organizations in the space for tangible opportunities.
- Keeping up to date with the crypto space, as well as local and national business and economic issues.
- Developing internal relationships, building your KPMG brand, and championing the digital assets space.
- Thinking beyond your own capability area and being proactive in collaborating with other service lines to offer our clients the best possible solution.
- Leading the pursuit of business development opportunities that exist within digital assets.
- Building long-term relationships with our clients and bringing them the best of KPMG.
- Being a role model to the wider team by showcasing our values and principles, leading from the front and by example.
- Leading goal development and coaching of staff to enable the growth of the junior management team within our practice.
- Supporting the development of junior team members through formal training, training on the job as well as informal coaching & mentoring.
- Contributing to people-related initiatives such as recruiting, training, and retaining staff.
- In-depth expertise in crypto, DeFi, and excitement about Web 3.0.
- Demonstrated consulting experience in executing client engagements in the digital assets space.
- Strong understanding of the technology and operational risks with cryptoassets custody.
- Ability to lead multiple workstreams and engagements simultaneously.
- A strategic mindset to enable innovation while managing the risks.
- Strong people manager who can lead large teams and develop/coach others.
- Experience in working on a client sales team and developing strong client relationships.
- Ability to adapt communication and leadership skills to different stakeholder groups (from CFO to analyst).
- Ability to review and challenge information that has been provided by other team members, ensuring the information is 'fit for purpose' and at the right level of granularity.
