Reporting to the Manager - LHT, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the underwriting team.
- ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached
- Verification of insurance certificates issued by our brokers.
- Communicate directly with brokers to track current quote requests.
- Assist underwriters with the pre-selection of quotes and summarize basic exposures.
- Completion of worksheets
- Gather and review information for monthly activity reports
- Review, prepare, create, request and send incoming and outgoing mail, reports and forms
- Other assigned duties, including managing the team's inboxWho You Are
- Post-secondary education
- Interest in CIP program
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in an environment fostering teamwork
