Flaggers / Traffic Controller

• Control traffic by slowing, stopping and/or directing
• Control the traffic moving through the work zone
• Paying close attention to surroundings and reacting to any potential hazards
• Communicating with motorists, supervisors, and coworkers
• Follow Health and Safety Acts and Alberta Traffic Laws

• Previous experience performing flagging/traffic control duties is an asset
• Good physical condition
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Can maneuver traffic control devices effectively
• Comfortable working on construction sites and potentially busy roads
• Ability to react quickly to potentially hazardous situations
• Ability to stand outside a varying weather condition
• Professional appearance at the work site
• A reliable vehicle is considered an asset for this role
• A sense of responsibility for the safety of the public, work crew and yourself
