The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, planning, and maintaining a secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure environment that aligns with enterprise technology strategy.
This role includes infrastructure solution design, architectural reviews, multi-cloud architecture planning, and ensuring that technology implementations comply with standards, governance, and business requirements.Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Design & Architecture
Design infrastructure solutions based on non-functional requirements (NFRs) for enterprise projects.
Produce architecture deliverables such as Physical Infrastructure Diagrams, workflows, and design documentation.
Ensure infrastructure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture strategy.2. Governance & Architectural Alignment
Lead design review discussions and present solutions for approval in Design Governance forums.
Collaborate with technology partners, platform teams, and architects to ensure alignment with standards, compliance, and best practices.
Ensure infrastructure recommendations do not diverge from business or technology strategy.3. Infrastructure Planning & Strategy
Plan, evaluate, recommend, and configure infrastructure components to support new and existing technology projects.
Ensure proposed solutions are cost-effective, meet enterprise requirements, and follow architecture blueprints.Technical Skills & Expertise:
System Design & Modeling
Deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and workflow diagrams.
Strong skills in Visio modeling for architectural representations.High Availability & Disaster Recovery
Expertise in HA/DR architecture, failover design, resilience strategies, and operational continuity planning.Cloud Architecture
Experience designing for multi-cloud environments (placements, integration, governance).
Familiarity with Azure architecture, including region/zone design, redundancy, and cloud topology.Networking & Security
Understanding of networks including LTM, Application Gateways, and load balancing concepts.
Knowledge of TLS security, certificate configurations, and secure communication protocols.Governance, Audit & Risk
Ability to conduct risk assessments, audit reviews, and compliance-driven design adjustments.Must-Have Skills
Proven ability to follow the TOGAF design process end-to-end, including documentation and governance engagement.Essential Skills Summary:
Strong capability in designing scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.
Deep understanding of system and workflow diagrams.
Advanced knowledge of HA/DR, multi-cloud architecture, and Azure regions/zones.
Strong skills in networking and TLS security.
Experience with governance, audit, and risk assessments.
Ability to lead design review discussions and collaborate with technology partners.
Proficiency in Visio modeling.
