Job OverviewWe are recruiting a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and ongoing maintenance of a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other equipment. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in heavy truck and trailer repair with on/off-road equipment experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Responsibilities
Conduct routine servicing of heavy equipment and vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, fluid checks, and lubrication, to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment
Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and functionality. Able to diagnose and repair manufacturers spec.
Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical issues and recommend timely, cost-effective solutions.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage, and inspection reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Work in collaboration with other team members to coordinate repairs and prioritize equipment servicing based on operational needs.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Heavy-Equipment Technician including on/off-road experience, or in a related field
Journeyperson certification required
Valid Driver's License, preferably Class 1 or 3
Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing including marijuana.
Must be fit-for-duty.
