Company: Southbridge Health Care LPLocation: Ontario Region (Head Office - Cambridge)Position: Project Manager – Permanent Full-timePosition DescriptionSouthbridge is looking for an experienced Project Manager for long-term care redevelopment and Capex projects. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of long-term care redevelopment and Capex projects. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals and consultants, while successfully directing construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing work in accordance with contract documents, schedule and budget. The successful candidate must be professional and a personable leader, dedicated to bringing in projects on time and on budget.As Project Manager, you’ll work as team member, managing multiple projects at various stages of development. Opportunities will include managing all aspects of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, municipal and code approvals. You will also manage schedules, budgets, design, drawings and specifications for each project.ResponsibilitiesThe Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to all the following:Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the Vice President of DevelopmentCreate a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the projectDetermine resources required to complete the projectDevelop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to activitiesReview project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as requiredDetermine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completionWork with internal team and hired designers/consultants to establish initial design, specification accuracy, drawing and tender accuracyAssess and contract qualified consultants and engineers to work on the project as appropriateExecute the project according to the project planDocument project activitiesMonitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion on time and on budgetReview the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets Southbridge standardsWrite reports on the project for managementMonitor and approve all budgeted project expendituresManage all project funds according to established accounting policies and proceduresEnsure that all financial records for the project are up to dateEnsure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of qualityEvaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phaseQualificationsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of project management methodology and toolsProficiency in the use of software for scheduling, budgeting, MS OfficePersonal characteristicsThe successful candidate should be able to demonstrate competence in all of the following:Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of Southbridge.Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.Creativity/Innovation: Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the project and to create new opportunities.Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.Lead: Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of Southbridge.Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of Southbridge.Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and track details/data/information/activities.Plan: Determine strategies to move the project forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans and evaluate the process and results.Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.Experience5 to 10 years in project management construction, planning and management experienceWorking ConditionsProject Managers usually work in an office environment, but the purpose of the project may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces including travel for regularly scheduled site meetings.Project Managers work a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.Interested applicants should send their resumes through this posting .
