- Safely transport employees and stakeholders to and from NPS-V checkpoints
- Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic rules, Airport Authority regulations, and internal Garda World regulations.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) issued by the airport authority.
- Ensure that screening operations are uninterrupted while transiting employees from one screening location to another.
- Conduct regular inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure it meets safety standards,
- Coordinate regular maintenance and necessary repairs with appropriate facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior
- Transport consumable supplies to designated locations.
- Complete all documents and reports regularly and ensure all documentation is filed according to industry standards.
- Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record
- Maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators permit (AVOP) issued by the airport authority.
- Ability to obtain and retain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) and Transport Canada Clearance
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle operational challenges and escalations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with screening personnel and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in fast-paced environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including irregular shifts.
- Commitment to maintaining certification and meeting training obligations as per CATSA requirements.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Strong integrity and ability to follow directives
- Technical: Demonstrate a solid understanding of Garda World, CATSA, and Airport authority rules and regulations. Technical knowledge of operating and maintaining vehicles.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with passengers and screening personnel for their assignments. Communicates clearly and effectively mechanical concerns.
- Interpersonal skills: must be able to maintain a calm, polite, and professional demeanor during potentially stressful encounters. Teamwork with coworkers is critical. Build positive relationships with internal and external clients, gaining their trust and respect.
- Vigilance: Maintains a prominent level of vigilance, strictly adhering to safety protocols, traffic rules, and other regulations.
- Critical thinking: make decisions promptly, occasionally with incomplete information. Must be able to respond appropriately, critically, and independently to various security-related situations.
- Physical requirements include but are not limited to standing for extended periods, lifting/pushing/pulling luggage or other items, bending, squatting, crouching, sitting, and kneeling.
- Working outdoors in various conditions during the year for short periods.
- Work on a set schedule during operational hours (e.g. morning, afternoon, evening, overnight), potentially including weekends and holidays. Shifts are not always flexible and vary from airport to airport.
- Adhering to regulatory requirements, such as licensing, certifications, and compliance with transportation laws.
