Rotation: 14 days on 14 days off
Shift Length: 12 hours
Travel: FIFO or Drive
Length of Contract: 2 years, potentially 3

Requirements: FMTM (Formation Modulaire du Québec) or equivalent (Ontario Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core) Valid driver's license General Explosives Permit Drug screening Medical examJob Description:Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and/or the Underground Superintendent, the primary role of the Long Hole Driller is to perform production and service hole drilling duties in an underground environment. Additional work may include loading explosives, installation and grouting cables for support.Responsibilities:General:Operate Production ITH Drills (Sandvik Solo) for blast holes and service holes.Prepare daily reports of all drilling activities.Read and understand planned drill patternsWash, scale and make safe drill areas to be marked upMeasure location and stake out pattern of holes to be drilled, load blast holes with explosives and detonate explosives as per company procedures.The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusiveHealth and Safety:Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environmentFollowing Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditionsResponsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.Qualifications:Work Experience:Minimum 3 years' experience in ITH long hole drillingKnowledge RequiredDemonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.Ability to multi task and work effectivelyAbility to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independentlyRespectful of cultural differences
