- Safely operate vehicles, including delivery trucks, tank trunks, over-the-road trucks
- Maintain truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition at all times
- Load trailers and plan schedule based on customer orders to meet customer delivery requirements
- Work closely with sales team to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections
- Ensure accurate up-to-date delivery location maps, and operate in accordance with regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
- Maintain driver's hours of service by using SamSara ELD reporting
- Maintain regular communication with sales and supervisor in order to report field problems and/or safety hazards
- Wear appropriate safety gear at all times during delivery operations
- Keep current on safety techniques and take advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
- Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment
- Based out of Leduc, AB.
- Travel will include the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Scheduled deliveries will be Monday to Friday, with some overtime as needed
- Schedule will vary based on customer orders, up to 3-4 nights of overnight travel may be required per week.
- This is a 12-month contract role
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possess a current Class 1 Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with all the relevant endorsements (Q)
- 3 years commercial driving experience with ability to drive manual transmission (10 & 13 speed)
- Acceptable motor vehicle record
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to travel to the US for training/meetings
- No immigration sponsorship offered for this role
- Experience operating forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses
- Experience handling products in various types of packages including bulk, drums, totes will be an asset
- Knowledge of equipment, compliant with Federal Safety Regulations and regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
- Bilingual or strong French verbal communication skills are an asset
