- Develop and maintain the enterprise DLP strategy in line with data protection policies, business objectives, and regulation.
- Define, enforce, and improve DLP policies, rules, and procedures across endpoints, networks, cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, CASB), and email systems.
- Monitor DLP alerts, investigate potential data loss incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
- Escalate critical incidents and support incident response teams during data breach investigations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remediate incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Design, implement, and fine-tune DLP controls to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remediate incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Provide operational support for DLP systems, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Manage application, user, and system-level changes related to DLP tools and integrations.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve DLP posture, automation, and system availability.
- Develop and deliver training materials and awareness programs on DLP systems and data protection.
- Establish and maintain support procedures, documentation, and performance metrics.
- Support data classification initiatives to ensure sensitive data is properly tagged and protected.
- Experience with cloud security, including identity and access management, data protection, network security, and threat protection.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and Microsoft security technologies, such as Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Microsoft 365 Defender, and Microsoft Purview.
- Provide analysis, evaluations, and recommendations to enhance system consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Conduct risk assessments and offer recommendations for system and application design.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in information security consulting, operations, or advisory roles.
- Proven experience with full lifecycle DLP implementation.
- Strong leadership the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical skills to evaluate data and design preventative measures to reduce risk.
- Strong project management skills including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and change control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
- Ability to work with teams to achieve goals, meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations and reports.
- Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and data privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR).
