OverviewTo meet growing demand, the System Protection & Automation Engineering group within the Power Sector at TRC is seeking a Sy stem Protection Engineer (Engineer II) to work closely with a diverse team of System Protection and Automation & Integration engineers on projects for utility, generation and municipal clients across the country.Successful applicant will be responsible for fault analysis, developing relay settings and related documentation for protective relays and control IEDs. Expected to follow client requirements and internal company quality control and quality assurance practices.Expected to serve as the interface with clients, other company departments, outside consultants, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers on technically related matters. Expected to work collaboratively with engineering lead or technical reviewer on assigned projects. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with other engineering and project management team members and tasks to coordinate overall project deliverables and be responsible for helping maintain project budgets and schedules.Location: Work from various in-office locations available
Responsibilities
- Responsible for power systems analysis, fault current analysis, protection
for a variety of equipment and applications. * Evaluate equipment specifications and application of new equipment based oncustomer and industry standards. * Develop custom logic and control schemes.
- Prepares project scopes and concepts.
- Develop relay settings and other deliverables with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Coordinate with project engineering lead on assigned projects and tasks.
- Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record
- Assist field personnel during testing and commissioning, answering questions and
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- EI/EIT preferred
- 2 or more years of electrical engineering experience in relay settings is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of typical transmission, substation and distribution
- Experience with ASPEN and AcSELerator Quickset software required. Experience
