The Department of Chemistry has an opening for a sessional instructor for the upcoming Winter Semester 2027 (January - April 2027) to teach Chemistry 1120 - General Chemistry II. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.CHEM 1120 - GENERAL CHEMISTRY IIThis course continues the subject matter of Chemistry 1110. Topics include: chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, intermolecular forces, solutions, chemical kinetics, entropy and Gibbs energy, redox equations and electrochemistry. The laboratory associated with this course stresses volumetric analysis, titration curves and chemical kinetics.Three lecture hours a week: one three-hour laboratory period or tutorial a week.Although this course includes a lab component, the instructor will only be responsible for the lecture component of this course.Prerequisite: Chemistry 1110Qualifications:
  • Successful applicants will have a minimum of a Master's degree in a related area.
  • Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the sessional roster of the academic unit
