The Director, Strategic Business Transformation & Governance will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the organization’s strategic transformation agenda while ensuring robust governance across all business functions. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can navigate the complexity of a major CPG organization—balancing the demands of day-to-day operations with the critical work of redefining the business for long-term profitable growth.
The successful candidate will be accountable for driving high-impact transformation initiatives, optimizing decision-making processes, and ensuring that the organization operates within a clear and disciplined governance framework. This leader will work closely with senior executives to track progress, resolve barriers, and maintain alignment with strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities:
Transformation Leadership
- Transformation Roadmap: Lead the design, implementation, and execution of the company’s strategic transformation agenda.
- Cross-Functional Efficiency: Drive initiatives across business functions to improve operational performance and accelerate profitable volume growth.
- Opportunity Prioritization: Identify and prioritize transformation opportunities, balancing quick wins with long-term strategic bets.
- Organizational Change: Oversee reorganizations and lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and stakeholder alignment.
- Performance Tracking: Establish KPIs and tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, measure impact, and adjust course as needed.
- Change Leadership: Serve as a change champion, fostering engagement, alignment, and commitment across all levels of the organization.
- Governance Structure: Define and maintain a clear governance framework that enables effective decision-making and accountability across the enterprise.
- Executive Forums: Manage and facilitate key governance bodies such as steering committees, portfolio reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
- Issue Escalation: Ensure critical projects and operational challenges are escalated, reviewed, and resolved through established governance processes.
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with functional teams to align resources and initiatives with enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
- Leadership Transparency: Provide executive leadership with clear visibility into transformation progress, key risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Reporting Accountability: Own and validate all recurring reports to the corporate office, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across functional submissions.
- Reporting Standards: Enforce corporate formatting and style guidelines, streamline reporting processes, and proactively resolve risks or inconsistencies before reports reach the President.
- Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team, providing strategic counsel and insight.
- Analytical Insight: Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver data-driven recommendations that inform strategic decisions.
- Execution Discipline: Foster a culture of discipline, agility, and accountability in project execution across the organization.
- Narrative Development: Synthesize cross-functional inputs into cohesive executive-level narratives, emphasizing key insights and implications.
- Presentation Excellence: Craft and deliver impactful presentations that clearly communicate strategic vision and transformation plans.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive alignment and mentor team member(s) to support professional growth.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Leadership Experience: 8–15 years of progressive leadership in CPG, management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar fields, with a proven track record in leading enterprise-wide transformation programs within complex, matrixed organizations.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of CPG operations, including supply chain, sales, and marketing dynamics.
- Governance & Program Management: Exceptional skills in governance, program oversight, and strategic prioritization.
- Influence & Communication: Ability to influence across all organizational levels, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in project management methodologies and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Clear, measurable progress against the transformation roadmap.
