You will lead the technical execution of projects ranging from urban roadway improvements to provincial highway corridors, with an emphasis on quality, innovation, and efficient design. Your knowledge of design software, engineering standards, and multidisciplinary coordination will be critical to successful outcomes.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You’ll Do:Serve as the technical lead on complex roadway and highway design projects, overseeing engineering deliverables from preliminary through detailed design stages.Apply expert knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards, municipal design guidelines, TAC standards, and applicable codes.Direct the preparation of engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and tender documents.Lead or contribute to the preparation of preliminary engineering studies, functional designs, and Class Environmental Assessments.Coordinate across disciplines (e.g., structures, drainage, traffic) to ensure integrated, high-quality project delivery.Review and provide quality control for design documents, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with client requirements.Provide technical input during construction services, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.Support proposal development and level-of-effort estimates for upcoming assignments when needed.What You’ll Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree is an asset.Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in road and highway engineering, including work on MTO and/or large municipal projects in Ontario.Demonstrated expertise in roadway geometry, grading, pavement design, staging, and roadside safety.Proficiency in design software such as OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.Strong technical writing skills, with experience preparing reports and contract documents.Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering work.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and coordinate with other technical disciplines.Familiarity with project delivery processes including Class EA, DBB, DB, and P3 models is an asset.Additional InformationTYLin is committed to employment equity and providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (‘AODA’).
