Your Opportunity:Under limited supervision, the Rockyview General Hospital Emergency Department Unit Clerk (RGH ED UC) is responsible for performing day-to-day clerical and administrative duties for the Emergency Department. The RGH ED UC is instrumental in facilitating communication between nursing and other health disciplines, departments, patients and families. The RGH ED UC understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality of patient information, and his/her practice reflects this by strict adherence to AHS and departmental policies. The RGH ED UC is a major asset to the smooth and efficient operation of the Emergency Department. The successful candidate is reliable, motivated, self-directed, and able to prioritize work and deal with frequent interruptions in a stressful, dynamic environment.Description:As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. Additional Required Qualifications:Fluency in written and spoken English required. Preferred Qualifications:Current Calgary Zone Emergency Department experience preferred; other Emergency/Urgent Care experience will be considered. Experience with Connect Care and MUSE preferred.
