Summary:Fernie Alpine Resort is looking to fill the full time year round position of Cirque Restaurant Chef. Reporting to the Resort Food and Beverage Director, the ideal candidate will have previous kitchen leadership experience, will be an excellent communicator with strong culinary skills related to fine food service.Job Description:We are looking to fill the position of Sous Chef at Fernie Alpine Resort.   • Planning and direction of food preparation according to resort F&B specifications
  • Follow kitchen's systems & principles
  • Promote a safe, sanitized work environment, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, safety and food storage management
  • Keep the kitchen running smoothly, manage challenges quickly and efficiently
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, lead kitchen staff during working hours
  • Flexible, versatile, and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensuring the highest level of service and guest experience
  • Provide non-stop team work with your teammates and managers
  • Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
  • To perform other tasks and duties that are applicable
You Have:
  • Previous Sous Chef experience required
  • Cook training certification an asset
  • Food safe certification an asset, may be obtained upon hire
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive wage: $22.00-25.00/hour (Dependent on experience)
