Our growing Burlington client is looking for a Director of Communications to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years related experience in a head office supporting franchises from a Communications perspective. The following are the responsibilities:We are seeking a Director of Communications to lead and oversee internal and external communications initiatives for our global division, while collaborating with regional teams to ensure alignment and impact. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic oversight with execution and is responsible for planning and guiding major global communications projects and enforcing governance standards.The position requires a strong understanding of entrepreneurial environments and the franchise business model to ensure strategies resonate across multiple brands, diverse audiences, and operational structures. The ideal candidate will bring proven multi-brand, omni-channel experience and the ability to build alignment and capability across global and regional communications functions.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee global communications initiatives, ensuring timely, high-quality execution across all deliverables.
  • Establish and implement a global communications strategy that provides clear frameworks for internal, external, social, and earned media channels.
  • Collaborate with brand, regional, and business unit teams to guide and support their communications plans, building a strategic-to-tactical working format and structure.
  • Design and manage communications roadmaps for global campaigns and enterprise initiatives.
  • Ensure governance standards including tone, brand guidelines, and approval workflows.
  • Integrate PR considerations into global campaigns, leveraging owned and earned channels for enterprise-level visibility.
  • Contribute hands-on to critical projects such as global announcements, major campaigns, and crisis communications.
  • Drive omni-channel strategies tailored to audiences across platforms and channels.
  • Identify and apply emerging trends in digital and social communications to inform strategy and content development.
  • Partner with analytics resources to track performance, leverage insights, and report KPIs to leadership.
  • Support internal communications for culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Mentor and build capability within the communications team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Qualifications
  • University degree (Bachelor/Master's) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 12+ years of communications experience with at least 6-8 years in a leadership or management role, overseeing teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing communications in multi-brand and/or franchise environments.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for internal and external communications.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and brand consistency principles.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across global, regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience delivering omni-channel communications strategies for unified brand experiences.
  • Understanding and experience in multiple business models including B2C, B2B, and franchising.
  • Experience in agile, privately owned organizations where adaptability and innovation are key.
Please note this is an in-office position 5 days per week.
Salary 120K-130K plus bonus
