- Manage a portfolio of water and wastewater projects for towns, counties, municipal districts, and First Nations communities.
- Lead planning, design, and technical execution, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, aligning with our service objectives and meeting expectations.
- Oversee the preparation of technical reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with client needs.
- Support business growth through proposal preparation, marketing efforts, and municipal sector business development.
- Collaborate with the Regional Water Manager to develop business plans, resource strategies, and group growth initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (or a related discipline). Master’s degree considered an asset.
- Professional Designation: Eligible for registration, or currently registered, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta.
- Project Management Expertise: Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater design and delivery, with at least 3 years in a project management role. PMP designation is an asset.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, distribution/collection networks, and applicable municipal and provincial standards.
- Business Development Skills: Experience preparing proposals, building client relationships, and identifying new opportunities within the municipal sector.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and foster collaboration across departments.
- Communication & Organization: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Technology: Proficiency with engineering design software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Field Experience: Familiarity with construction administration, site inspections, and contractor coordination.
