- Overseeing all aspects of the project.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with owners, architects, consultants, trades, and the public while promoting our services and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Program, providing key leadership, setting examples, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Supervising, mentoring, coaching, and training project personnel.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the terms of contract documents.
- Ensuring all permits, insurance, and bonding are in place.
- Assisting in the tendering and awarding of trade contracts.
- Conducting pre-construction meetings.
- Managing the budget process.
- Participating in the design process when required.
- Managing the value engineering process when required.
- Preparing and maintaining the baseline schedule.
- Tracking delays and applying for Extensions of Time and additional costs.
- Managing the Change Order process.
- Managing cash allowances.
- Managing and resolving contractual and technical issues with consultants and trades.
- Preparing and presenting monthly Project Cost Reports.
- Preparing a cash flow and updating it as required.
- Preparing monthly progress billings and monitoring receipt of payment certificates.
- Reviewing and authorizing sub-trade and material payments and ensuring accurate cost coding.
- Ensuring sub-trade/supplier’s accounts are reconciled.
- Processing shop drawings/samples.
- Ensuring submittal log and RFI logs are prepared and implemented.
- Conducting regular site reviews and meetings; ensuring minutes are distributed accordingly.
- Dealing with all day-to-day correspondence and ensuring the job site receives all correspondence in a timely manner.
- Applying for substantial performance and total completion.
- Ensuring deficiencies are addressed promptly.
- Ensuring all final payments are received at the end of the project.
- Acting as a liaison between all Project Team members, both internal and external.
- Assisting in securing new work by participating in estimates, proposals, and presentations as requested.
- Possess an Engineering degree (Civil/Construction/Architectural) or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Accumulate a minimum of 10 years of experience in the ICI construction industry.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, technology, equipment, means and methods, and general industry practices.
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards.
- Possession of Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset.
- LEED Accreditation is valued as an asset.
- Net Zero, WELL, and Passive House are assets.
- Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Suretrak, Primavera P3 or P6 are assets.
- Axis Accounting Software is an asset.
- Procore and BIM software knowledge are assets.
