- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and professional development support to junior and intermediate engineers and technical staff.
- Oversee, guide, and perform quality control (QC) for traffic engineering and transportation planning deliverables.
- Ensure project teams apply current design standards, policies, and contract delivery documentation requirements.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff on contract tender package preparation and submission requirements.
- Provide senior-level traffic engineering support for detailed design projects.
- Lead and manage the preparation and review of traffic-related technical reports and deliverables, including:
- Traffic Operations Reports
- Traffic Management Plans
- Sign Inventory Reports
- Staging Memoranda
- Roadside Safety and Guiderail Reports
- Oversee traffic engineering components of contract package deliverables from design through tender.
- Complete and review traffic analysis and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, VISUM, Aimsun).
- Lead and manage transportation planning and traffic engineering studies, including:
- Multi-modal transportation studies
- Transportation Master Plans (TMP)
- Municipal Class Environmental Assessments (EA)
- Active Transportation Master Plans (ATMP)
- Transportation Demand Management (TDM) studies
- Transit studies
- Parking studies
- Traffic operations and safety studies
- Transportation Impact Studies (TIS)
- Traffic management planning
- Act as Traffic Staging Project Manager on assigned projects, providing overall work planning, resource coordination, schedule control, and technical performance management to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Actively participate in project scoping, fee development, and preparation of proposals.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities, researching prospective clients, and contributing to strategic pursuits.
- Represent Egis at client, stakeholder, and public meetings, providing technical input and professional leadership.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, internal teams, department managers, and external stakeholders.
- University degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), with minimum 15 years experience.
- Developed an excellent reputation working with MTO/Municipalities etc..
- Experienced with Traffic/Highway engineering and has worked in or has an understanding of the consulting engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Traffic/Highway engineering, including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in detail design work with proven design capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
