Job Title: Requirements Modeling EngineerJob DescriptionThe Requirements Modeling Engineer will be involved in the modeling and simulation of electrical engineering (EE) features and requirements for body, chassis, and infotainment systems, including semi and fully automated driver assistance systems. This role focuses on requirements modeling using IBM Rhapsody and related tasks for both existing and new features. The engineer will perform testing and validation of EE requirement models for vehicles, utilizing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to achieve requirements maturation. The role includes performing system-level dynamic analysis of EE features to identify potential issues and ensure requirements maturation following the EEDP Engineering Process. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Systems, VI, and Platforms, and must have a desire to learn new processes and technologies.Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, simulate, and validate SysML models and generate EE system requirements related tasks.
  • Develop System Architecture Model framework using the Harmony SE process.
  • Analyze existing requirements and functional objectives to identify use cases, decompose them into activity and sequence diagrams, and build and simulate models for validation.
  • Generate AUTOSAR compliant auto code from UML models.
  • Annotate SysML models to generate EE requirements.
  • Develop executable IBM Rational Rhapsody SysML models.
  • Hand off SysML model to UML Model.
  • Perform auto-code generation and integration with WPF GUI, VEOS, and base software of actual ECU.
  • Establish traceability of EE requirements and customer functional objectives to SysML models using Doors Next Generation (DNG) and Rhapsody Model Manager (RMM).
  • Participate in ALM discussions to ensure efficient and reusable management of SysML models and work streams.
  • Understand EE functional objectives and simulate requirements by developing SysML models and GUI for new and advanced EE features.
  • Demonstrate EE features to Platforms, VI teams, and EE Senior Management in design reviews.
  • Work with Systems Teams to address requirements issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Coach team members in Model Based Systems Engineering for Dynamic Analysis.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in SysML and UML methodologies for system engineering.
  • Experience in Requirements Modeling and Model Based System Engineering.
  • Competency in the V-model development process.
  • Competency in Systems Engineering – EE Requirements, Communications Protocols.
  • Competency in IBM Rational Rhapsody.
  • Competency in AUTOSAR compliant auto code generation.
  • Competency in integration of auto-generated code with different platforms.
  • Trained in VEOS and GUI creation using WPF.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams following Agile methodology and practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 3+ years within the area of Model Based System Engineering.
  • 3+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Orthogonal Arrays for System Behavior Testing.
  • Understanding of Embedded System Software development.
  • Trained in the use of IBM Rational Harmony Profile.
  • Understanding of VEOS and System Desk.
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification.
  • 1+ year of experience using C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with Product Line Engineering.
  • Strong experience in SysML and C++.
Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily remote with occasional travel to Auburn Hills, Michigan for meetings. Candidates must be able to travel to the US and preference will be given to those located in Windsor. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of WINDSOR, ON.
