Wage Range: $35.10 to $52.64 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: 4:00pm - 12:00am and including 1 in 4 weekends

Closing Date: Until filledPosition SummaryThe Supervisor is accountable for the provision of patient focused, high quality housekeeping services in patient and public areas.Duties
- Oversee cleaning, waste, linen, and portering activities during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate and monitor work to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in hiring and coaching for performance in accordance with provisions of the collective agreement.
- Ensure compliance with PIDAC standards and infection control requirements.
- Monitor cleaning efficacy through visual and glo germ audits in collaboration with Infection Prevention & Control and Service Managers, providing follow-up training as needed.
- Ensure a safe work environment through consistent application of safe work practices including but not limited to fire safety training, emergency response procedures, WHIMIS, proper use of PPE, hand hygiene, and infection control best practices for environmental cleaning.
- Supervise work conducted by contractors / service providers ensuring patient privacy and proper procedures for infection prevention and control are followed at all times.
- Conduct staff training on cleaning practices, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Manage safety standards and budgets, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and legislation.
- Under direction of Manager of Environmental Services manage salaries, supplies and budgets in accordance with UHN policies
- Degree/diploma in environmental services, hospitality services or related field is required.
- Member in good standing of either Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers' Association Inc.(OHHA) or/and Canadian Association of Environmental Management (CAEM).
- OHA Environmental Services Leadership Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years experience in the housekeeping management of a healthcare environmental services team.
- Expert knowledge in Housekeeping procedures ie: floor care.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiar with Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) standards and demonstrated background in educating staff related to these standards.
