- Provide technical leadership for the execution/development of EO/IR projects and contracted programs
- Manage multiple technical projects in a cross functional environment, with the ability to balance requirements of a variety of stakeholders, including internal and external parties
- Estimate and assign work packages and monitor and control execution of work
- Provide Mentorship of junior team members
- Work with the R&A Manager to identify risks, issues, opportunities and mitigation
- Develop a strong presence across engineering and other areas of the business to maximize collaboration and synergy in an effort to meet project goals
- Own Concepts of Operation, system specifications and interface control documents
- Work collaboratively with Software Engineering to design, test and document new product features and ensure traceability to top level requirements
- Support flight test and customer demonstrations setup, troubleshooting and performance characterization.
- Maintain requirement traceability in IBM DOORS
- Support the Bids and Proposals process as required, providing reviews and inputs in support of compliance matrix completion
- Support E3 Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Participate in technical design reviews / gate reviews to ensure system design integrity is achieved, test and evaluation concerns are addressed and NPI milestone dates are achieved
- Participate in interviews and peer reviews as required
- Perform functional verification tests and support system integration verification/validation tests
- Generate qualification plans, qualification summary reports and qualification by similarity reports
- Ensure deliverable product meets the design objectives
- Well-developed and effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership, planning, organizational and analytical skills
- Proven understanding of Systems Engineering principals
- Strong Project and technical management skills, demonstrated on assigned projects
- Ability to deal directly with internal and external customers
- Extensive knowledge of and high-level understanding of WESCAM hardware and software systems
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable military and industry standards related to airborne, marine and ground systems including MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, MIL STD 461, MIL STD 704 and applicable Customer requirements
- Programming skills in Matlab, Python, and/or database management is desirable
- Driven to quickly and efficiently address issues to keep test programs on-track for completion
- DOORS or equivalent requirements management tool
- Knowledge of navigation systems, GPS denied operations and inertial navigation systems an asset
- Minimum of 6 years of technical experience across Systems Engineering, Verification and Validation of aerospace/defense products
- Undergraduate Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma with applicable on the job experience
- Meets the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and is eligible for a Canadian government security clearance
