- Lead full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference
- checks, and onboarding.
- Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs and build effective workforce plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders, providing guidance on employee relations matters.
- Develop and implement programs that enhance employee engagement, morale, and overall workplace culture.
- Manage the annual performance review process and support leaders in developing actionable performance plans.
- Facilitate ongoing employee development through coaching, structured discussions, and training initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Review, update, and implement HR policies and programs to align with evolving regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR practices with business objectives and organizational strategy.
- Contribute to budgeting processes, workforce planning, and organizational development initiatives.
- Oversee health and wellness initiatives, disability management, and employee support programs.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment across all levels of the organization.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field is required.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is required.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and health & safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with an appreciation for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Must be able to work on-site; candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of Smoky Lake, Alberta (or be willing to relocate).
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel within Alberta on occasion.
- Must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check.
- Salary: $85,000 annually
