The position will join the Hydrogeology Technical Team of Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line.The Senior Hydrogeologist Modeler will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will support field investigations, groundwater modeling, and report writing. You will interact with both internal and external clients in field and office settings.Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Hydrogeologist Modeler will be responsible for analyzing and communicating hydrogeologic and geologic data to provide insight into critical groundwater flow processes.Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment ProgramPrepare proposals, develop work plans, schedules, and budgets and management of projects/tasksInterpret aquifer tests, characterize aquifers based on maps and other spatial data, and perform spatial analysis.Develop conceptual, analytical, and numerical groundwater flow models to support environmental impact assessments, remedial evaluations, and risk assessments.Prepare presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel occasionally required.Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines.Assignments/projects are advanced in nature and require the application of mature knowledge.Your Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations, with advanced technical writing skills.Ability to work under little supervision and work well with others to achieve group resultsAbility to mentor junior and intermediate staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverablesStrong organizational and time management skills that include balancing immediate and long-term work commitments with varying priorities and deadlines.Maintain a disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence.Possess exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisionsEducation and ExperienceGraduate degree from a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeologyExperience and expertise in groundwater and vadose zone modelling is required, experience with FEFLOW or MODFLOW software preferredA minimum of 7 years of hydrogeological experienceExisting professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)Majority of time spent in office environment with prolonged sitting and computer work.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$96,800.00 - $145,200.00 Annually

Locations in Lower Mainland -- BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$103,300.00 - $153,300.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
