- Schedules and assigns daily tasks to other staff and supervises until completion
- Works with Chef/Manager to create menu’s & snack programs
- Receives, temp’s, labels and stores supplier product
- Sets up workstation with required ingredients and equipment
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, peeling, etc.
- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, etc.
- Arranges, garnishes and portions food following established guidelines at the operation
- Develops and maintains positive client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
- Follows all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wages, and hours
- 2-4 years minimum culinary experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to create high quality dishes from recipes, ingredients, new menu
- Attention to detail of food service preparation and presentation to meet and exceed client expectations
- Attention to garnishes and toppings to further enhance meal flavours, and presentation
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions, intolerances, and nutritional balance
- Knowledge and experience preparing various international dishes; baking skills are an asset
- Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, management and the Client.
