CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, is seeking a strategic and passionate Paid Social Media Manager to lead our paid social efforts across platforms like Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat. - Leveraging a deep expertise of Paid Social, champion the evolution of capabilities aligned with CarMax’s broader media strategy.
- Stay ahead of trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to unlock new opportunities.
- Contribute to the long-term vision for paid social within our advertising ecosystem.
- Develop and execute paid social plans that translate media objectives and audience insights into actionable plans.
- Align paid tactics with broader social and media strategies through close collaboration with planning, analytics, and organic social teams.
- Drive quarterly planning and innovation roadmaps with agency and analytics partners.
- Lead assigned resources to identify new projects and manage the channel backlog of test and innovations
- Manages assigned internal and external (agency) team members to ensure flawless campaign execution that achieve objectives.
- Prioritize workstreams and hold team members accountable for performance and results.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Lead weekly planning to ensure team is working on the projects that will accomplish media goals across Social platforms, ensuring tactical excellence.
- Oversee campaign setup, pacing, creative trafficking, and reporting.
- Lead data driven optimization with deep business insights that drive continuous improvement across the media portfolio
- Manage a budget of up to $20M with precision.
- Serve as the go-to Subject Matter Expert for Paid Social across internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Build strong relationships with platform reps (Meta, TikTok, etc.) to ensure operational excellence.
- Partner with creative, analytics, and strategy teams to deliver cohesive, high-performing campaigns.
- 5+ years of experience in paid social media planning and execution for a large brand or agency
- Proven success managing campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and other social platforms.
- Strong understanding of paid social best practices, tagging, attribution, and creative formats, and Dynamic Product Ad capabilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external agencies.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience in omnichannel retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing industries.
- Understanding of measurement and attribution tools (GA4, Adobe Analytics, etc.).
