- Tracking and reporting of capital spending on an ongoing basis. Guide projects through the approval process. Managing the spending of capital projects and reporting via KPI and Capital Spending Reports. This task requires constant interaction with project managers and the project & the portfolio lead engineer to ensure data is accurate.
- Verify capital requests in YPPM for completeness and accuracy. Ensure accurate tracking of depreciation and disposal of assets. Manage physical asset counts to meet IFRS requirements.
- Capturing production data for internal reporting via SAP and other reports as required.
- Using HFM monthly to report financial information to Yara International.
- Supply information reports to Statistics Canada, these include the Monthly Manufacturing Survey, Quarterly Fertilizer Shipments Survey, Quarterly Survey of Financial Statements, Industrial Chemicals & Synthetic Resins Survey, Annual Survey of Chemical Manufacturers, International Transactions in Commercial Services Survey, Geographical Distribution of Capital Survey, Structure of Canadian Companies in the Reporting Enterprise Survey, Ownership Survey, Quarterly Investment between Canada & Other Countries Survey, and Yearly Capital Expenditures Report.
- Supply information reports to the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), these include the Monthly Producer Report, Annual Production Capacity Survey, & Annual Ammonia Production Cost Survey.
- Supply information reports to the Canadian Fertilizer Institute which includes the Annual Membership Sales Survey.
- Perform various duties to help the accounting team close out the month end, including monthly account reconciliations.
- Provide accounting and finance assistance and expertise and lead change where required and requested, i.e. creating/implementing the month end duties controls, supporting managers with budget compilations and variance analysis, etc.
- Provide backup in tasks such as credit management, payment pro- cessing, establishing and maintaining credit files, SOMS to SAP down - loads, and any other customer related issues that may arise.
- Forecasting monthly natural gas charges; includes reconciling gas volumes with suppliers and record keeping of gas documents.
- T106 forms - Non-arms length intercompany transactions.
- T4ANR record keeping / non-resident labour withholding tax for non - resident contractors working for Yara Belle Plaine in Canada.
- NR4 record keeping / non-resident financial transactions, licensing, intercompany interest expense, & dividends.
- T4A slips for Scholarships.
- CPA designation or accounting degree working towards an accounting designation.
- Strong background in finance and production accounting.
- A computer background is essential with skills in Microsoft Office and an ability to adapt will to new software packages. Highly motivated person.
- Decisions are made within the parameters of Yara policies (risk policy, ethical standards, values, etc.), GAAP, and good business judgment. This position is entrusted with a certain decision-making freedom as directed by the Finance Manager
