The Shuttle & Sales Coordinator is part of the Sales & Marketing Team, responsible for the active off-site promotion of tourist visits to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The prime responsibility is to encourage ridership on our free shuttle service from a variety of key strategic tourist locations in the Vancouver area. The Shuttle Coordinator will also promote visits to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park through our sightseeing and tour company partners.The Shuttle Coordinator’s role includes assisting with on-site operational management of the shuttle service as needed but primarily focused on approaching and engaging with tourists to encourage them to visit CSBP during their stay. Sales and promotion efforts will be mainly centered at Canada Place for the first part of the day. Afternoon activity will be rotated through several other off-site locations throughout the downtown core: e.g. Gastown, entrance to Stanley Park, Bike rental areas, and specifically the “new” route starting on June 15th. Key sales tools will be the shuttle schedule and the $5 off savings offer.Sales & Marketing activities will be required throughout the day, as time and the shuttle schedule permit. Expanded sales activities will also include calling on key hotels to ensure up-to-date shuttle information is on hand for their Guests and on-going public relations with our sightseeing partners.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Generation of Sales & Guest Service
  • Greet Guests and contribute to a positive experience by connecting with our Guests.
  • Act as an external ambassador for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park with an engaging personality and openness to tourists, which will invite interest in Capilano.
  • Convert interest and inquiries into sales.
  • Respond to inquiries using effective selling techniques to promote the experience of visiting Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, the Cliffhouse Restaurant and Trading Post Retail Store
  • Promote daily shuttles to potential Guests in person at our Downtown locations.
  • Gain knowledge of the competition’s pricing, products, and services.
  • Work in partnership with other Shuttle Team Members and under the direction of the Director of Sales, take part in department planning and action plans.
  • Represent Capilano Suspension Bridge Park knowledgeably.
  • Complete all duties necessary for the successful operation of the shuttle and the achievement of sales goals.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, as requested by the Director of Sales
Qualifications
  • 1 year experience in Guest Services, Retail, Tourism or Hospitality
  • A university or college degree (or working towards) in a related discipline (ex. Tourism & Hospitality) is considered a strong asset.
  • A second language is considered an asset.
  • Must have a passion for Guest service, the city, and its many sights.
  • Involvement in the local community and organizations is considered an asset.
  • Ability to be self-motivating in an unsupervised position
Working Conditions
  • Able to work outside, in varied weather conditions.
  • Able to be on your feet for extended periods of time and carry a small amount of collateral material in a carry-all pack.
  • Able to attend some evening employee or company sponsored-hosted events.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business, off site of the main business location
