- Analyze technical problems raised by end users and propose effective, practical solutions.
- Gather, analyze, define, and manage system requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive requirements documents and specifications in line with project and customer standards.
- Define and document system interfaces, ensuring compatibility and proper integration with related systems and equipment.
- Develop system designs and perform detailed system analysis to support implementation and verification activities.
- Update and maintain system design documents to reflect desired functionality and design changes over time.
- Prepare system test procedures and test reports in accordance with established company and customer standards.
- Perform system verification and validation testing, accurately record results, and analyze test data to confirm compliance with requirements.
- Identify, document, resolve, and verify problem reports, ensuring issues are tracked through to closure.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure that system designs are correctly translated into software implementations.
- Interact with the software in a lab environment where it interfaces with both simulated and real aircraft equipment.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with team members, leadership, and customers to present proposed or completed work.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, including Airworthiness, Safety, Hardware, Software, and Human Factors, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Apply a disciplined systems engineering approach and problem-solving skills to daily project activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, documentation, and tools within the team.
- Proven experience with requirements analysis, definition, management, and traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with system verification, system integration, and system testing in complex technical environments.
- Ability to apply strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues raised by end users.
- Experience working in a team environment using an Agile development methodology.
- Disciplined approach to systems engineering, including structured documentation and configuration control.
- Practical experience with requirements management tools, such as IBM Rational DOORS.
- Comfort working with software that interfaces with both simulated and real equipment in a lab environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
