- Lead the end-to-end SOX compliance program, including planning, scoping, documentation, testing, and remediation.
- Oversee internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) across all financial cycles (e.g., revenue, procurement, payroll, financial close).
- Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness; identify deficiencies and drive remediation plans.
- Coordinate with internal audit and external auditors to support SOX testing and annual compliance requirements.
- Maintain and enhance control documentation, narratives, risk control matrices (RCMs), and process flowcharts.
- Monitor and assess global risk areas impacting financial reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and training to business process owners on control requirements and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and strengthen the internal control environment.
- Stay current with regulatory developments and evolving best practices in SOX compliance and corporate governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or external audit.
- Experience within a large, publicly listed company environment is required.
- Big 4 public practice background considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in SOX Section 404 requirements and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and global control environments.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
