- Engage children to provide individualized counselling and therapeutic interventions to a diverse range of emotional and physical responses to trauma
- Communication and coordination with external agencies, including joint public education, program intakes and program delivery.
- Work alongside frontline case managers to co-ordinate registering children into school, programing, CAS directives etc.
- Complete an intake and on-going safety planning, safety assessments and goal planning with caregivers
- Plan and participate in community events, and public education opportunities including LEAF
- Plan and facilitate groups/actives
- Maintain confidentiality with regards to clients/staff and Centre's records
- Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd
- Post-secondary education in social services/ Child and Youth or related field is required
- A minimum of one-year experience providing counselling or therapeutics services and supports to children and youth required.
- CPR/1st Aid is required
- ASK suicide prevention is an asset
- A valid Ontario Driver's License is an asset
- Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
- The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule
