- Lead geohazard assessments including landslides, rockfall, debris flows, erosion, and slope instability using appropriate engineering and geoscience principles
- Prepare and review technical reports, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and design documentation
- Oversee the development of geotechnical and geohazard drawings and ensure alignment with design intent
- Act as Engineer/Geoscientist of Record (EOR/GOR) where applicable, including signing and sealing of documents
- Manage projects from initial site assessment through detailed design, permitting, and construction phases
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, environmental, and planning disciplines
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead the preparation of technical proposals and fee estimates.
- Represent the firm at industry events and maintain a strong professional network to support business development efforts.
- Review and respond to field reports, monitoring data, RFIs, and contractor submittals during construction
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and provide construction support in challenging terrain and conditions
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices
- Support Project Managers with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical oversight to junior engineers, geoscientists, and technologists
- Review project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to submission
- Identify risks and propose practical, cost-effective mitigation and design solutions
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal standards, processes, and best practices
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Professional designation (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) in British Columbia (or eligibility for registration with EGBC)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in geohazard assessment, geotechnical design, and project delivery
- Strong expertise in slope stability, landslide risk assessment, rockfall analysis, and hazard mitigation design
- Proficiency in geotechnical and slope stability software (e.g., GeoStudio, Rocscience Suite, Slide, RS2, or similar)
- Experience with terrain analysis, LiDAR data interpretation, and GIS tools is an asset
- Thorough understanding of applicable guidelines, standards, and risk management practices in BC
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound technical judgment
- Experience in construction monitoring and field review processes in remote or rugged environments
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
