As a Senior Associate, Restructuring your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in preparing valuations of assets and business interests for various purposes (e.g., sale processes, refinancing, settlements, operational restructuring and financial restructuring).
  • Assist in preparing complex financial models to evaluate and pursue financial and operational restructuring opportunities across business operations.
  • Assist in preparing confidential information memoranda and transaction documentation (e.g., buyer lists, confidentiality agreements) and in compiling and managing electronic data rooms
  • Support project execution by collecting, integrating and summarizing research and other information, and preparing for client deliverables.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to develop and validate recommendations, offers and counteroffers.
  • Support client engagements related to formal and informal restructuring and liquidation processes.
  • Liaise with lenders, creditors, debtors, legal counsel and other stakeholders.
  • Identify issues, assess implications and recommend practical solutions.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including research to support pitches, proposals and prospecting, and attendance at related events.

  • Post-secondary education in a business-related field (degree, diploma or certificate).
  • Professional accounting designation considered an asset (e.g., CPA).
  • Previous experience in accounting, corporate finance and/or banking.
  • Enrolled in, or interested in pursuing, a secondary professional designation (e.g., CIRP, LIT).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and perform under pressure across multiple teams and a variable workload.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including developing mid-level to complex financial models and analyzing large datasets to generate insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong online research skills (databases and web-based tools).
  • Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Client-focused approach.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to ambiguous or undefined problems.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement concepts and demonstrated financial analysis capability.
  • Prior exposure to corporate finance and/or project management considered an asset (not required).
  • Demonstrated interest in business and the Canadian business landscape.
