This role is essential to maintaining a safe, respectful, and orderly environment while working in close collaboration with Sheriffs and law enforcement personnel.About the RoleAs a Sheriff & Security Officer, you are responsible for screening all individuals entering the courthouse using approved security equipment and established protocols. You will provide clear instructions to the public, ensure compliance with security requirements, and maintain constant awareness of your surroundings.This position requires a high level of diligence, professionalism, and sound judgment. You will interact with a diverse population while upholding the standards expected within a justice environment, contributing directly to the safety of judicial staff, law enforcement partners, and the public.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct security screening of all persons entering the facility
  • Operate screening equipment in accordance with established procedures
  • Provide clear, respectful directions to visitors and courthouse users
  • Monitor access points and maintain secure entry controls
  • Communicate effectively with Sheriffs and law enforcement personnel
  • Identify, report, and respond appropriately to security concerns
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
What You Bring
  • Valid Alberta Security License
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • High attention to detail and commitment to following protocols
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and courteous in a high-responsibility setting
  • Comfort working closely with law enforcement within a structured environment
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Full-Time, Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM
  • Courthouse-based role supporting justice operations
