THE TEAMThe mission of the Architectural Standards Team is to define & uphold the technical standards, tools, and processes that ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all projects- supporting scalable delivery through governance, enablement, and cross-functional alignment.THE OPPORTUNITYAritzia is growing, and our Architecture team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to join the team responsible for defining and refining the creative intent of our physical spaces—and translating that vision into clear, actionable design solutions. As the Creative Lighting Designer, you will lead the development of lighting concepts that enhance the customer experience and express Aritzia’s architectural vision. Your role will focus on integrating lighting seamlessly into our physical spaces — balancing aesthetics, performance, and technical precision. You’ll lead the design direction for all lighting components, generating design intent packages, coordinating fixture specifications and controls, and using Revit with photometric data to validate lighting quality and distribution. You’ll collaborate with internal design, technical, and visual merchandising teams, as well as external suppliers and contractors, to ensure design integrity from concept through construction while staying ahead of lighting trends, technologies, and code requirements to bring fresh, innovative thinking to each project.   • Drive the evolution of lighting design through trend research, material exploration, and concept development.
  • Lead the detailing and documentation of lighting systems, ensuring every element enhances the spatial experience, supports long-term durability, and integrates seamlessly with architectural intent.
  • Develop and evaluate mock-ups, physical samples, and onsite lighting tests to ensure that design intent translates clearly from concept to the built environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to embed lighting into the full project vision while contributing to the development of internal standards, libraries, and tools that drive consistency and elevate outcomes across all projects.
THE QUALIFICATIONSThe Creative Lighting Designer has:
  • Proven skills, certifications, education and/or experience in architectural lighting design, spatial design, and fixture specification, and proficiency in tools such as Revit, ACC, and Enscape.
  • An understanding and passion for the industry in which we operate
  • An understanding of Aritzia’s brand vision and style fundamentals with a focus on trends and cultural influences
  • The ability to collaborate fluently with cross-functional partners
  • A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business
THE COMPENSATIONThe typical hiring range for this position is $100,000–$150,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.We are always looking for top talent.
