We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining reliable financial records. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong numerical aptitude, and takes pride in accuracy and efficiency.Key Responsibilities
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and entry into the accounting system
  • Verify invoice details, including pricing, quantities, and payment terms
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies or billing issues
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (cheques, EFT, ACH)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records and files
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and foster positive working relationships
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required
Additional Responsibilities
  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports
  • Provide backup support for reception as needed
  • Order and manage office supplies, including postage
  • Coordinate annual archiving and disposal of outdated accounting records
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash
  • Provide general administrative and office support
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Solid understanding of financial processes, including accounts payable/receivable, purchase orders, invoices, and bank reconciliations
  • Experience with accounting and accounts payable software
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is an asset
  • 2–3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with three-way matching (purchase order, receiving, invoice)
  • Knowledge of sales tax regulations
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)

Shift Availability
  • Monday to Friday – 8:00 am – 4:40 pm (in-office)
