- Analyze and review the requirements for letters of credit, letters of guarantee and payment terms under various bid and contractual documents, underline related risks and make comments and recommendations to mitigate such risks.
- Support and advise the business units and other corporate functions for any needs related to bank guarantees and letters of credit.
- Analyze, revise, design, propose and negotiate the terms and conditions of bank guarantees, letters of credit.
- Prepare and send to the banks instructions (including issuance and amendment requests) for bank guarantees and letters of credit.
- Ensure that internal policies and procedures for issuance and amendment of bank guarantees and letters of credit are fully complied with in all related processes.
- Ensure proper processing and adequate completion of the transactions.
- Participate in the meetings for risk evaluation of the proposals/bids with the respective business units, Legal, Finance Teams and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with banking partners and different stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Law, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 7 years of relevant work experience with letters of guarantee and letters of credit.
- Good knowledge of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) publications: 600, 758 and 590 (a major asset).
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Fluent in English and French, written and spoken. *
- Strong analytical skills.
- High level of autonomy, sense of organization and efficiency.
- Strong ability to maintain accuracy and quality while working in a demanding environment.
- Comfortable interacting with lawyers, project managers, procurement managers, senior management, business partners and bankers.
- Outstanding work ethic, diligent and rigorous.
- Efficient, self-motivated and team player.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Member of the Canadian or Global Leadership Team: This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as it involves collaboration with members of the Canadian or global leadership team located outside Québec.
