- Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding.
- Partner with managers to understand hiring needs, create role profiles, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline using tools like LinkedIn, job boards, career fairs, and employee referrals.
- Oversee offboarding processes with professionalism, ensuring smooth transitions for departing employees.
- Stay informed on recruitment trends and the competitive talent landscape.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS, performing regular audits and updates.
- Support system updates, documentation, and user training.
- Assist with HR compliance, policy reviews, and annual attestations.
- Prepare internal communications regarding HR processes and system enhancements.
- Plan and implement employee engagement and recognition programs aligned with company culture.
- Coordinate performance management cycles, including goal setting and reviews.
- Support employee training and development initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to enhance the employee experience.
- Analyze engagement trends and recommend improvements.
- Support managers with employee relations matters, including attendance, accommodations, and performance discussions.
- Coach employees and leaders through workplace challenges with a people-first approach.
- Provide guidance on employment standards, health and safety, human rights, and relevant legislation.
- Assist in resolving workplace issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and assist with merit and bonus planning processes.
- Help administer benefits programs, including renewals and open enrollment.
- Support job description reviews, classification updates, and competency frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with evolving employment legislation and company policies.
- Support health and safety compliance initiatives as needed.
- 4-5 years of HR experience, ideally with at least 2 years in a generalist role.
- CHRP/CHRL designation (or in progress) is a strong asset.
- Experience in manufacturing, start-ups, multi-entity organizations, or clean-tech environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards in Ontario and familiarity with U.S. employment practices.
- Proven ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience improving and streamlining HR processes and practices.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, reporting, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization.
- Curious, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a willingness to take initiative.
