- Lead diverse and multi-disciplined projects and manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects of the work, from proposal stage through to commissioning of the work.
- Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, structural, geotechnical, hydrogeologists, environmental, civil and other teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Manage and deliver projects following robust quality management, and health and safety processes.
- Represent McElhanney as a main point of contact on projects and ensure that client’s needs are being met in a timely and respectful manner.
- Provide timely and accurate invoicing, management of projects financials and change management.
- Develop new business opportunities and establish strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners.
- Prepare effective proposals, liaise with clients, and find opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services.
- Collaborate with divisions across the Okanagan region and the company in support of projects.
- Use your engineering expertise to provide engineering solutions to our clients
- As situationally required, provide construction/contract administration on projects.
- Mentorship of junior staff and contribution to our technical service groups.
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or institute with demonstrated strong technical skills and 5+ years of related experience in linear and non-linear water and wastewater infrastructure.
- P.Eng. status with EGBC required - status with APEGA beneficial but not required.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive a project from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally when dealing with clients and partners.
- Aptitude for leadership, continuous learning, knowledge sharing and relationship building.
- A positive attitude, the ability to build trust and engagement and a desire to support the growth of the Engineering Team.
- Demonstrated business development skills with an understanding of client-focused service.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate responsibilities, and motivate others to produce high-level results.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) beneficial but not required.
