We are hiring immediately for a seasonal maintenance associate.As a maintenance associate, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to; working with the members of the Maintenance Department to ensure the building is clear of debris (shrink wrap, broken skids, pieces of wood, etc.), looks organized, and is safe at all times.Availability RequirementYou must be available to work a minimum of 32 – 40 hours per week, on a 12-month contract, (potential for contract extensions or permanent positions beyond this date).Schedules available are:
  • Sunday to Thursday 6:00am start
What you’ll do:
  • Collect and dispose of cardboard and debris
  • Operate the compactor and cardboard baler
  • Perform various tasks such as hanging signs, moving furniture, assisting in projects
  • Maintain, inspect and change powered equipment batteries
  • Ensure MHE (forklifts and power jacks) are collected, parked and charging
  • Paint and perform janitorial duties.
  • Occasionally work at heights up to 30 feet
  • Operate power-jacks and lift trucks
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned or required
What we’re looking for:
  • Availability to work various shifts (AM, PM, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., including, bending and twisting
  • Having any experience in trades or general maintenance and repairs of any sort would be an asset
  • MHE Certification and experience would be an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as basic knowledge of Outlook email operation and computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Painting experience is an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is ideal but not mandatory.
  • Steel-toed boots or shoes are mandatory.
