Job Description:We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our clients team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. This is a long-term contract opportunity within a non-profit organization, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable functions with accuracy and attention to detail.Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the accounting system.
  • Prepare payments and manage check runs in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Address a backlog of invoices, ensuring all are reviewed and processed efficiently.
  • Verify and approve accounts payable transactions while adhering to internal controls.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure proper account coding and documentation.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Adapt to evolving processes and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and other financial duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Blackbaud software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple steps in the accounts payable process.
  • Experience with invoice coding and payment preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high transaction volumes efficiently.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable approvals and bank reconciliations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
