Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?This is an exciting opportunity within Global Functions Technology (GFT) at RBC. You will have the ability to help drive more informed business decisions through provisioning of robust financial processes, contribution to a financial centre of excellence, delivery of meaningful reporting and ability to analyze data to provoke fact-based conversations. You will be working alongside the GFT senior leadership team as well as their Planning teams to provide insights gleaned from data analysis.You will independently and effectively help to manage the accrual process, the month end reporting cycle, the centre of excellence related to financial matters and the quarterly/annual planning process.What will you do?Prepare month end reporting and analysis: processes include professional fee accruals and recovery reporting, forecast changes, and ensuring full resource recovery.Present financial results in Monthly Operational Review meetings, providing focus and insights for senior management.Collaborate across T&O development groups to ensure alignment of budget, forecast and actual delivery to each business segmentLiaise with T&O Finance on various month end activities including variances and FTE recovery explanations, and various ad-hoc requestsSupport ad-hoc requests leveraging knowledge of MS Office suite, MIS/Planview, and other toolsAnalyze the results monthly and provide relevant messaging of financial position and issues to be addressedParticipate in planning and forecasting schedule to drive robust business conversation and submission of plans that are clear, well understood and aligned with business demandResponsible for applying best practices and innovation to improve service deliveryWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveUndergraduate degree - Professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred but not mandatoryMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role of analyzing and conveying company or divisional resultsAbility to effectively balance a desire for precision and accuracy with the need to be timely, flexible and dynamic in delivery of business insightsAbility to influence at multiple levels in the GFT organization including strong stakeholder communication skills, both verbal and written in order to provide interpretation and counsel on all things financialA collaborative customer focused mindset, balancing individual progress with team goalsNice-to-haveExperience with Tableau and/or SQL would be helpfulStrong understanding of data management tools and the ability to integrate data streams into reporting (Excel, Tableau)Ability to learn quickly and appropriately prioritizeWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressively thinking of ways to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
