The Manager, Finance and Accounting role shifts the focus firmly to leadership and strategic oversight. Managers lead a team of 3–5 Analysts and Senior Analysts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results across multiple portfolios or business units. They oversee performance management, coaching, and resource allocation, while also providing strategic analysis and partnering with senior leadership. Managers influence business decisions at the organizational level and are accountable for aligning financial results with strategic objectives.We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our hybrid work guideline requires teams to come to the office a minimum of 4 days per week.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and OversightOversee financial reporting across a multi-asset, multi-entity portfolio, including review of monthly results at both the asset and sector levelEnsure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Oxford’s standards and expectationsDirect the team’s completion of month-end activities, including review of third-party reporting, key performance indicators, and variance analysis against budgetsEnsure accurate consolidation and timely submissions to Corporate and senior stakeholdersOversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring consistent application of accounting standards (local GAAP or IFRS)Review calculation of tenant's CAM/Tax recoveriesProactively identify risks and drive adherence to Oxford’s processes, controls, and governance standardsCoordinate interim and year-end audits for multiple entities, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and proactive management of issuesMaintain a strong control environment to minimize riskPlanning, Forecasting and AnalysisLead the coordination, review, and analysis of annual operating plans and quarterly reforecasts with asset and property managersProvide insights into variances and key drivers to support strategic decision-makingOversee and provide input into portfolio-level cash forecasting and distribution cycles, ensuring alignment with business priorities and liquidity requirementsIdentifying trends, risks, and opportunities within portfolios and recommending solutionsPortfolio and Transaction SupportSupporting the execution of portfolio strategies, including contributions to investment transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, developments)Partnering with investments, operations, and corporate reporting teams to align financial analysis with business prioritiesOversee the onboarding of new asset acquisitions and third-party service providers, ensuring seamless integration of accounting processes, controls, and reporting requirementsSpecial Projects and Process Innovations and ControlsParticipate in special projects with a focus on continuous improvement, process automation to improve efficiencies in day to day responsibilities and people and culture initiativesEnsure compliance with Oxford’s processes and controlsLeadership and People ManagementLead and manage a team of 3–5 finance professionals, including coaching, performance management, and professional developmentOversee delegation and prioritization of the team’s workload to ensure timely and accurate delivery of resultsAct as a primary point of contact for third-party managers, including managing deadlines, regular communications, and escalation of issues where neededProvide oversight and review of information received to support decision-makingLeading process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in reporting and forecastingQualifications:University degree, preferably in Commerce, Business or Accounting and Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) completedMinimum 6-7 years of experience in a related capacity with experience in a complex environment and a proven record of strong performanceReal Estate industry experienceIFRS and US GAAP experienceSkills:Core Technical and Analytical SkillsStrong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, complex consolidations, portfolio-level forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysisAdvanced analytical skills to interpret financial results, identify risks/opportunities, and provide recommendationsStrong understanding of technical accounting for complex transactions (e.g., acquisitions, dispositions, intercompany)Leadership and People ManagementLead a team of 3–5 finance professionals, including coaching, performance management, and developing future talentDemonstrated initiative in mentoring and supporting team members while balancing execution responsibilitiesStakeholder Management and CommunicationStrong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders;
