Are you an SAP BW Development Specialist/Lead with a passion for modernization and data strategy? Our client is looking for a SAP BW Development Specialist/Lead to join a 6-month hybrid contract role based in Toronto, with the potential for a 6-month extension. You will work twice weekly onsite at Metro Hall and remotely for the rest, supporting enterprise architecture initiatives to modernize SAP BW and implement SAP Datasphere solutions.
As a BW Lead, you will shape data architecture, lead pilot implementations, contribute to the RFP process, and help define the BW modernization roadmap, working closely with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and vendors.Advantages

  • Analyze the current SAP BW technical landscape and identify modernization gaps
  • Design scalable data models and ETL/ELT flows using BW and Datasphere
  • Draft technical specification documents, process diagrams, and deployment guides
  • Lead data validation, reconciliation, and performance testing efforts
  • Support BW migration activities, including roadmap development and gap assessments
  • Execute Datasphere pilot use cases, integrating SAP data sources
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather reporting and analytics requirements
  • Participate in RFP documentation: writing technical requirements, supporting demos, and scoring proposals
  • Create and maintain an asset inventory of BW components
  • Deliver detailed technical documentation, including solution walkthroughs
  • Support collaboration using Agile or hybrid project tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
Qualifications
โœ… Must Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP BW, including architecture, modeling, and ETL
  • Expertise in BW on HANA or BW/4HANA, with experience in upgrades/migrations
  • Solid background in SAP Datasphere (data integration, modeling, and development)
  • Proficient in working with SAP source systems: ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, SuccessFactors
  • Strong understanding of data extraction techniques (e.g., ODP, CDS views)
  • Experience with reporting tools like SAP BusinessObjects or SAC
  • Skilled in drafting technical documents, solution diagrams, and deployment plans
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Solution Manager
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with IT and business stakeholders
