This individual will play a key role in overseeing architectural projects at both local and national levels, while also contributing to the strategic growth of the firm's architectural services across Canada.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic and Business LeadershipActively develop new client relationships and strengthen existing ones to support growth in architectural services.Identify opportunities in emerging markets, track potential prospects, and lead proposal development efforts.Represent the firm at industry events and with professional associations to expand visibility and generate business leads.Collaborate closely with leadership on marketing strategies, client presentations, and strategic initiatives.Project Oversight & CoordinationLead and manage architectural design from conceptual stages through to construction, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget alignment.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to ensure seamless project integration and delivery.Oversee the development of project documentation, including feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction packages.Conduct regular reviews of project deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with codes, and design integrity.Technical Expertise & Design ExcellenceProvide direction on the creation of architectural concepts and technical design solutions.Ensure high-quality design documentation and adherence to applicable codes and standards throughout all project phases.Serve as a resource for resolving complex architectural challenges during construction and contract administration.Maintain oversight of digital production, including Revit, CAD, rendering tools, and other design platforms.Team Leadership & MentorshipGuide and support architectural staff through mentoring, coaching, and technical direction.Encourage a culture of collaboration and design innovation across teams.Evaluate team performance and provide regular feedback to promote professional growth.Assist with workforce planning and recruitment to meet project and practice demands.Set an example of professional conduct, quality standards, and design excellence.QualificationsLicensed Architect in Ontario (OAA), with a degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.At least 20 years of progressive experience in architectural practice, including team and project leadership.Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design and practical problem-solving.Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.Proficient in architectural software, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; 3D visualization skills considered an asset.Deep understanding of Canadian building codes, zoning bylaws, and construction regulations.Skilled in managing complex, multi-phase projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.Committed to ethical practice and continual professional development.Advancement OpportunityThis position offers potential for partnership or equity involvement within the firm, aligned with performance and leadership contribution.
